  • Sockeye Homes and SkyDADU — both owned and led by Tod Sakai — are growing fast. While today’s construction industry feels uncertain and many companies are reducing their workforce, we’re doing the opposite. Demand is exploding, our pipeline is stacked, and we’re building & remodeling more high-end residential projects and custom & package DADUs (Detached Accessory Dwelling Units, also knowns as “backyard cottages”) than ever before.

This is NOT a subcontractor role. This is NOT an unpredictable-hours position. This is a full time, 40 hour per week CAREER with weekends off.

Sockeye Homes (www.sockeyehomes.com) & SkyDADU (www.skydadu.com) combined now takes on 90–100 projects annually, and we have work stretching well into 2028. SkyDADU is scaling rapidly as homeowners across the Puget Sound region invest in premium Detached Accessory Dwelling Units for retirement and investment purposes — and they want a professional organization like us who knows how to Finance, Build and Manage as a one-stop shop.

If you’re looking for a paycheck job, plenty of places will hire you. But if you’re looking for a CAREER with long-term stability, a winning team, and
leadership that actually knows how to build, Sockeye Homes x SkyDADU is where you want to be.

About the Position:

We’re hiring a Master Carpenter specializing in finish carpentry — someone who’s spent years in high-end residential construction and understands the full arc of finish work, from drywall readiness to the last nail (please don’t apply if you’ve just done remodeling as a hobby. This position is only for
experienced construction professionals).

You must be able to deliver top-tier craftsmanship in:

• Cabinetry installation
• Doors, jambs, casing, hardware
• Base, crown, paneling, wainscot
• Built-ins and detailed finish elements
• Jobsite problem-solving when things don’t line up perfectly (because they
never do)

Rough carpentry and tilework aren’t required, but if you have deep understanding of them, that’s a bonus. The position is finish carpentry, and we
expect mastery.

Minimum Requirements:

• 10+ years of master-level carpentry experience
• High-end residential background
• Ability to devise solutions onsite without hand-holding
• Valid Washington-state driver’s license
• Drug-free
• A great teammate — skill matters, but attitude matters more

Why Join Sockeye Homes x SkyDADU:

We’re officially the Most Awarded Company for Remodeling & Custom Homes in Washington State (recognized by the Building Industry Association of
Washington). And Tod Sakai is the incoming President of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties — the largest homebuilders
association in the nation.

Our future isn’t just stable — it’s bright. We’re expanding, building,

designing, and delivering more projects every year.

Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm Benefits & Perks May Include:

• Health insurance
• Retirement plans with company matching funds
• Paid vacations and holidays
• Company-owned trucks/vans with fuel card (after meeting employment length requirements)
